Every year, tens of thousands of people suffer an injury or death as a result of a defective medical or consumer product. A defective product injury can lead to costly medical bills and lost income for an extended period of time. If you or a loved one has suffered from an injury or death related to a defective product, an attorney who specializes in this field can help you navigate the complexities of the case. Qualified Counsel’s network of attorneys are currently handling cases related to the following defective products:

  1. Transvaginal Mesh
Transvaginal mesh was created to help repair damaged tissue in the female bladder and/or pelvic area. The mesh-like device is typically implanted in the vagina to support the vaginal wall, bladder neck, or urethra. Thousands of women have reported injury, death, and additional complications related to the mesh, leading to countless lawsuits against transvaginal mesh manufacturers.
  2. Zimmer Knee
The Zimmer Manufacturing Company has sold over 3 million NexGen Knee Replacements, which were often unsuccessful in fusing with patient’ thigh bones. The resulting loose joint creates a range of complications, including difficulty standing and walking, persistent pain and swelling, which can require correctional surgery to repair.
  3. IVC FIlters
Bard Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filters were created to prevent blood clots from reaching the heart and lungs. This medical device has faced several class action lawsuits in response to its dangerous, potentially life-threatening complications which include organ perforation, filter fracture, migration and embolization.
  4. Depuy Pinnacle Hip Implants
These metal-on-metal hip implants have shown high rates of failure which can lead to additional health complications and require correctional surgery.
  5. Stryker Hip Implants
Similar to Depuy Pinnacle Hip Implants, some Stryker Hip Implants have shown high rates of failure as well as unexpected complications, requiring additional surgical repair.
  6. Surgical Staplers
Surgical staplers were developed to help close large wounds more effectively and painlessly than stitches, as well as in operations involving reconnecting or removing internal organs. Common surgical stapler complications include: failure, misfire, malformed staples, difficulty firing during surgery, suture line opening and wrong size staples.
  7. Talcum Powder
Talcum powder has been used for many years to help prevent diaper rashes and as a hygiene product for women. Recent studies linking talcum powder to ovarian cancer have led to several lawsuits against manufacturers of the product.
  8. Roundup Weed & Grass Killer
Manufactured by Monsanto, Roundup Weed & Grass Killer has been linked to lymphatic cancer. Anyone exposed to the product who has developed non-Hodgkin lymphoma is entitled to compensation for their pain and suffering.
  9. Juul
In recent years, e-cigarettes have gained popularity as an alternative to cigarette smoking. Since then, Juul e-cigarettes have been associated with several medical complications, including addiction, seizures, lung disease and injury, stroke and even death.
